I had no idea what I was going to write about this afternoon until I found this original photo of the 'jellied macaroni ring' that I wrote about a short time ago as featured in Parade Magazine. Honestly...if this doesn't scream 'save me from gelatin hell!' I don't know what does! I haven't quite figured out what the draw was to these gelatin foods yet but when I do I'll be sure to pass along the news!
There are even a few extra descriptive sentences to go along with this...dish. The author, Beth Merriman who at the time this was written was the food editor for Parade Magazine declares this dish both unusual and attractive. Hmmm. She calls it beautiful and 'quite a picture!' It certainly is something. She states that all that is needed to round out the menu is a chilled vegetable juice cocktail (Bloody Mary) as a starter. Really. She even suggests a dessert of strawberries and cream to go with this 'meal' or could it be to make you forget? Some recipes should just not be made...even if they came out of a test kitchen.
